Help using the site

This section explains the features and functions of the website.

Please note that the site is demonstration site and while under development it may contain typographical / gramatical errors and indeed some wholly fictitious content. Please don't get too hung up by that! Your site will no doubt be perfect.

Navigation - Top Bar

On the top bar on the right hand side you will see 5 links:

Home Page

The Home page has three columns.

On the left hand side of the home page you will find the main navigation for the site.

Clicking a link will open that page / section of the menu.

Double clicking will hold open that section alolowing you to choose sections below.

On the right of the page is a column with

Help

You are on the Help page. This page offers a brief explanaiton of the main features of the site.

Contact Us

The Contact Us page contains details of how to get in touch and has an enquiry form.

Please note that as well as the message you send your administrator will also receive details of the date and time the form was submitted and the IP address of the sender.

With this information action can be taken to report anyone posting malicious or defamatory comments. This can result in the suspension of their Internet Service or legal action by the relevant authorities.

Site Map

Brings up a full Site Map with links ot all the relevant pages.

Main Menu

The main menu changes dynamically as the site editor and deigners add or rearrange elements on the site. Explore and enjoy.

Site Search

The site search finds words and phrases within the site itself and provides links to the relevant pages.

News

The news feature, contains articles we have created or selected, clicking on the heading will open a page with that news article. You print the article or return to a blank of the news page as needed and then continue browsing.

External Links

The site includes external links. Inclusion of those other links is not intended as an endorsement of those organisaitons, nor an indicaiton of their endorsement of ourselves.

Terms and Conditions

Use of this website is an indication that you accept the sites Terms and Conditions of use. A sample can be found here.

Privacy

Any data entered by you on to this website will only be used to service your enquiry unless otherwise stated.

Content Management System

Communicate is powered by CMS Made Simple version 1.6.6. You can find out more about the Content Management System here.

Parental Involvement

Where needed we can provided support in creating and facilitating events to support parental involvement. In the past we have run sucessful "Strategic Open Space" and similar events. You can find out a little more on our sister site here.

Consultation

The Content Management System has add on modules that allow feedback and simple survey forms to be created and managed on-line. Alternatively you can use a range of on-lines tools such as Survey Monkey to develop your survey and analyse your responses. Survey Monkey can be found here.

Members Registration

Members and Office Bearers can be given a pre-prepared username and password or you can provide them with a access to a self registration link.

Members E-mail

Office Bearers and if desired Members can be given an e-mail address hosted from your web sites service provider, eg chairperson@myschool.org.uk.

This will allow Web Mail access for those who do not already have an e-mail facility or for those who wish to keep their committee work separate.

Where they have existing e-mail and wish to do so the system can forward correspondence to their existing e-mail accounts . This can be a very helpful feature when office bearers or members change.
