About Golspie …

The village of Golspie lies fifty miles north of Inverness city and sits on the North sea coast, shadowed by Beinn a’ Bhraggie (397m) and surrounded by stunning Sutherland landscapes and seascapes. Situated between Dornoch and Brora, Golspie is an attractive seaside resort with fine award winning beaches and has a good range of shops, bars and cafes. Golspie is an ideal base for driving or cycling holidays in Caithness and Sutherland with the North Sea coastline on the east only sixty miles cross-country from the Atlantic coastline on the west. On the north coast, the Orkney Isles are visible and accessible from John O’ Groats and Cape Wrath, the most northerly point of the British Isles.

The Sutherland experience …

The area offers river and sea fishing, shooting, bird watching, wonderful walking routes and climbing. The mountains, moors, lochs, rivers and coastlines form scenery which is unsurpassed anywhere in the British Isles. Sutherland has some of the oldest hills in the world – the highest is Ben More Assynt which is 3272 feet above sea level. Along the north coast, there are well-known landmarks such as the spectacular Smoo cave and the most northerly golf course in mainland Britain at Durness; the magnificent Ben Loyal, queen of the Scottish mountains and Castle Varrich at Tongue, and the Strathnaver Museum at Bettyhill. The Station is only two minutes walk to Golspie Golf Course and a short drive to the world famous Royal Dornoch Golf Club, Skibo Castle, Brora and Helmsdale courses.

Mountain Biking …

The Station is overlooked by the Wildcat Mountain Bike Trails that traverse and ascend Beinn a’ Bhraggie and surrounding woodlands.
